I am very pleased to be the Reading Doctor for Bath and surrounding areas. I was immediately drawn to The Reading Doctors ethos and resources, which I believe are key to unlocking children’s potential, development and progress.

I have a Bachelor of Education Degree and began teaching in a mainstream school with children who needed one to one and small group support. I found this to be very fulfilling and rewarding, which saw me remain in this area throughout my teaching career. I feel privileged to have supported and helped amazing children on a range of Literacy interventions and strategies to meet each child’s individual and truly bespoke needs.

I have experience of being a SENCo in both a Primary School and a Pre-school. I became a Specialist Support Teacher / Consultant for Bristol and Bath Local Authorities, assessing and teaching children but also training and supporting SENCos, teachers and Learning Support Assistants. I have a Post Graduate Diploma in “Children with Speech and Language Impairments” which also led me to work in Early Years settings as a consultant and trainer for Early Intervention for children with Listening and Language difficulties.

I am able to teach children one to one in a friendly, positive but effective way with sights set firmly on reading for enjoyment and reading acceleration. I am also available to set up Reading Doctor hubs in schools to reach those children who need extra support with their reading.
