Welcome to the Reading Doctor Broxbourne. 

I am excited to bring this unique service to children and young adults who are ready to unlock their reading potential and soar. I have always had a strong love of reading since early age and have held a strong passion and belief that learning to read and engaging in stories is an essential step in every child’s learning journey. 

I am a highly skilled primary school teacher, with experience in Early Years, KS1 and KS2. I graduated from Middlesex University in 2009 and have enjoyed a successful career, developing my specialism in early reading. I love the classroom, and currently teach a wonderful class of Year 2 pupils in my local primary school, where I also lead Phonics.

In previous years, I ran an intervention programme for struggling readers in KS2, and saw first-hand how tailored, 1:2:1 teaching can offer so much more than the classroom, allowing children to think and process new learning in their own time and way, releasing confidence and boosting self-esteem. 

I have taught children with varying needs throughout my career and understand that not all children learn in the same way, which is why I am proud to offer such a bespoke service, ensuring no child grows up, continuing to struggle to read. The Reading Doctor methods promote independence, self-belief and nurtures resilience.
