I am so excited to be able to bring The Reading Doctor to the Staffordshire Moorlands and to be part of the team which enables children and young people who are having difficulties with reading to find the right strategies to overcome them.

Sessions with the Reading Doctor are tailored to meet the needs of each individual pupil following on from an initial assessment. Reading Doctors provide strategies to promote language and literacy skills through nurturing belief and resilience, whilst having fun and always using praise and encouragement to promote independent learning.
I have a BA (hons) in Professional Studies in Primary Education (specialising in SEND) and have worked in education since 1999. 

I have had a varied career in both Primary and Secondary Education but always with an emphasis on Special Educational Needs, in particular English/literacy and reading. I have worked 1:1, small groups and  full classes teaching reading and writing  all the way up to English Literature and English Language at GCSE. I have always loved reading myself and place high value on the importance of reading for everyday life and pleasure.

The most rewarding part of my job is enabling children and young people to meet their full potential and as a Reading Doctor I will strive to help you do just that.  If you feel that I could help you please don't hesitate to get in touch for a chat.
