About Functional Skills

The Reading Doctor Frame

Through our partnership with Pass Functional Skills, Reading Doctor pupils can now access:

  • Entry Level 1 Course

  • Entry Level 2 Course

  • Entry Level 3 Course

  • Entry Level 3 Exam (with or without course)

This makes it possible for pupils to work through the levels at their own pace, with the option to sit a nationally recognised Entry Level 3 Functional Skills qualification when they’re ready.

What’s Included:

The Reading Doctor Frame

Each learner receives:

  • A personal Reading Doctor to guide them through the course

  • Access to an online learning platform with

    • Diagnostic assessments

    • Video tutorials

    • Practice quizzes and topic tests

    • AI-marked mock exams

    • Smart progress tracking

  • The option to take the Entry Level 3 exam online, invigilated remotely

  • Flexible delivery: face-to-face, online or blended

  • The unique Reading Doctor multisensory touch: we adapt course content using our bespoke resources to suit each learner's needs

Flexible, Multisensory, Personal

The Reading Doctor Frame

Although the courses are digital, many pupils benefit from additional Reading Doctor input:

  • In-person support to navigate the platform

  • Offline activities using printed or tactile resources

  • Breaks, chunking and adaptive teaching strategies
     

This approach allows us to support a wide range of learners, from those with dyslexia or ADHD to those with trauma or sensory needs.
