Personalised English Intervention for Learners Outside Mainstream School


The Reading Doctor provides trauma-informed, one-to-one English tuition for children and young people receiving education through EOTAS (Education Otherwise Than At School) or attending Alternative Provision settings.
Our provision is designed for:
Pupils named in EHCPs who require specialist English support
Learners in Alternative Provisions, PRUs, or on reduced timetables
Children out of school due to anxiety, SEND, or school-based trauma
Young people accessing EOTAS packages funded by the Local Authority
Pupils included in the Local Offer requiring one-to-one, evidence-based literacy and English intervention
What We Provide
We offer one-to-one tuition in:

Reading (decoding, fluency, comprehension)

All sessions are:

Delivered by qualified teachers with enhanced DBS and safeguarding training

Functional Skills English Pathway
For learners who are not yet ready for GCSE, we offer accredited Functional Skills English courses at:

Entry Level 3 (with the option to sit a nationally recognised exam)
These can be embedded into tuition plans for EOTAS, Post-16 learners, or those in Alternative Provision pathways seeking a stepping-stone qualification.
