Hello, I'm Toni!
I'm proud to lead The Reading Doctor Ashford, supporting families across Ashford, Tenterden and the surrounding villages. I work with children to build confidence, remove barriers to learning and develop a lifelong love of reading.
I am a qualified primary teacher with over 10 years of experience across the full primary age range. As a Reading Subject Leader, I have led whole-school approaches to reading and have always been passionate about ensuring every child succeeds. I also have experience supporting children with SEND and EAL, and I understand that every child learns differently.
I truly believe that reading unlocks the rest of the curriculum and opens the door to imagination, learning and confidence. My aim is for every child to leave sessions feeling proud, capable and motivated to keep reading.
Why I Became a Reading Doctor
Throughout my teaching career, I have seen first-hand how confident reading transforms a child's learning and self-belief. I became a Reading Doctor to work more closely with children who need additional support, helping them overcome barriers and experience success in reading.
I am passionate about making reading accessible and enjoyable for every child. Seeing a child's confidence grow, and watching them begin to enjoy books, is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.
