Hello, I'm Kate!
I'm proud to lead The Reading Doctor Belper, supporting children across Amber Valley and East Derbyshire to become confident, independent readers through personalised 1:1 sessions.
With 24 years of teaching experience across Key Stages 1 and 2, I’ve always loved inspiring children and helping them grow. After stepping away from the classroom, I realised I missed the heart of teaching – the connection, the laughter and the joy of seeing children succeed. That’s when I discovered The Reading Doctor.

Why I Became a Reading Doctor
My return to education started with online tutoring, but it lacked soul and impact. When I came across The Reading Doctor, I knew immediately it was something special – not just tutoring, but a meaningful, proven approach that transforms confidence and ability in children who find reading hard.
The incredible stories of progress, parent feedback and OFSTED recognition convinced me this was the right path. I’m now thrilled to offer Reading Doctor support to children in Belper and the surrounding areas, helping them fall in love with reading.
