Hello, I'm Sara!
I'm proud to be the first Reading Doctor in Blackburn, offering bespoke 1:1 reading support that helps children become confident, enthusiastic readers.
With over eight years of experience working in education – including with children who have SEN and EAL needs – I’ve always been passionate about supporting young learners. I’ve seen first-hand how reading can unlock imagination and potential, especially when taught in a nurturing, personalised way.

Why I Became a Reading Doctor
My favourite part of the school day has always been storytime – watching children become immersed in a book and light up with curiosity and wonder. But I also know reading doesn’t come easily to every child, and whole-class teaching can’t always meet every need.
I discovered The Reading Doctor while searching for a way to make more meaningful, one-to-one connections with children through literacy. I was immediately drawn to the ethos, and I’m proud to now combine my love of reading with my teaching experience to help every child I work with feel seen, supported and capable.
