Hello, I'm Ali!
I'm proud to lead The Reading Doctor Bromley, helping children unlock the joy of reading through personalised 1:1 support that builds confidence and lasting skills.
With 29 years of experience in education – including roles as SENCO, Assistant Head and Inclusion Manager – I’ve dedicated my career to helping children thrive. I hold a BEd from Nottingham Trent University, a Postgraduate Certificate in SEN and I am a fully qualified Dyslexia Assessor. Supporting children in Early Years and Key Stage 1 has always been my passion.

Why I Became a Reading Doctor
My own reading journey wasn’t straightforward – I had to relearn to read at age seven – so I understand how challenging and frustrating it can be for some children. That experience stayed with me, and throughout my teaching career, I’ve made it my mission to help children access reading in a way that works for them.
When I discovered The Reading Doctor, I knew it aligned with everything I believe about inclusive, child-centred learning. Every child is unique – and they deserve support tailored to their needs. I’m thrilled to now be a Reading Doctor, using proven techniques to help children overcome reading difficulties and discover a lifelong love of books.
