Welcome to The Reading Doctor Effingham. I'm proud to be the first Reading Doctor in Surrey, offering personalised, bespoke 1:1 literacy support designed to help children become confident, fluent readers and develop a genuine love of reading. With over 14 years of experience in education, including roles as Deputy Head, Head of Early Years and DSL, my passion is inspiring children to become confident learners, develop a lifelong love of literacy and be proud of what they can achieve.

Why I Became a Reading Doctor
I have always had a deep love of reading and books, and the magical and informative journeys they can take us on. This passion led me to dedicate myself to helping children develop the skills they need to build their own love of reading and grow in confidence. When I discovered The Reading Doctor, I immediately recognised that its approach aligned perfectly with my own philosophy — providing a calm, nurturing environment where teaching is carefully tailored to each child, allowing them to flourish and reach their full potential.
