Hello, I'm Liz!
I'm proud to lead The Reading Doctor Gloucester, bringing personalised, 1:1 reading support to children across Gloucestershire.
With over 20 years of teaching experience in primary schools, I’ve worked across all age groups but have always been especially passionate about Early Years and Key Stage 1. Helping children learn to read has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career – because reading truly opens the world to every child.

Why I Became a Reading Doctor
Throughout my teaching career, I’ve supported children with a wide range of needs, including dyslexia, autism, global developmental delay, and social and emotional challenges. As a former SENDCO, English Lead and senior teacher, I’ve always tailored my approach to ensure every child progresses – especially when it comes to reading.
Becoming a Reading Doctor allows me to work individually with children in a calm, supportive setting, giving them the space and guidance they need to thrive. I’m passionate about helping every child become a confident, capable reader who enjoys learning.
