Hello, I'm Suzanne
I’m proud to lead The Reading Doctor Hove, offering one-to-one reading support to children across Brighton and Hove and the surrounding areas. I’m passionate about helping children build confidence, overcome barriers to learning, and rediscover a love of reading through personalised support that meets them exactly where they are.

Why I Became a Reading Doctor
I qualified with a PGCE in Primary Education in 2006 and have over 19 years of experience teaching across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 in primary schools throughout Hertfordshire and Sussex. During my career, I supported many children who struggled with reading due to additional learning needs or gaps in confidence. I often saw how these challenges affected not only their progress, but their self-belief and enjoyment of school.
After stepping away from the classroom last year, I began tutoring children on a one-to-one basis and witnessed the transformative impact of truly personalised teaching. Discovering The Reading Doctor felt like a natural fit. Its values and ethos align closely with my own, and it allows me to provide the focused, child-centred support I believe every child deserves.
