Hello, I'm Cathy!
I'm proud to lead The Reading Doctor Staffordshire Moorlands, where I offer personalised, 1:1 reading support to help children and young people build confidence, overcome challenges and thrive.
With a BA (Hons) in Professional Studies in Primary Education (specialising in SEND), I’ve worked in education since 1999. My experience spans both primary and secondary schools, always with a focus on literacy and Special Educational Needs. I’m passionate about helping children find the strategies that work for them – and seeing their confidence grow along the way.

Why I Became a Reading Doctor
Throughout my career, I’ve supported learners from early reading stages right through to GCSE English Language and Literature. I’ve worked one-to-one, in small groups and whole classes – but I’ve always seen the most transformational results come when support is truly personalised.
I’ve always valued reading – for both everyday life and pure enjoyment – and I believe it’s the foundation for future learning and self-belief. Becoming a Reading Doctor gives me the opportunity to combine my experience, my love of reading and my passion for SEND in a way that makes a genuine difference to children’s lives.
