Hello, I'm Amanda!
I'm proud to lead The Reading Doctor Maulden, supporting children across Bedfordshire and the surrounding areas to become confident, happy readers through tailored, 1:1 support.
After raising my three children, I retrained as a teacher and have since taught across all primary stages – from Reception to Key Stage 2. I believe that every child deserves to learn in a way that suits them best, and I’m thrilled to bring The Reading Doctor’s fun, engaging and individualised approach to my local community.

Why I Became a Reading Doctor
Seeing a child understand something for the first time – that spark of confidence and pride – is one of the most rewarding parts of being a teacher. I’ve always aimed to create an environment where learning is enjoyable and desirable, especially when it comes to reading.
Reading unlocks so much: knowledge, imagination, adventure and independence. When I discovered The Reading Doctor and its ethos of teaching in a way that matches how a child learns, I knew it was the perfect fit. Now I can offer personalised support that builds both skills and self-esteem.
