Hello, I’m Lyn!
I’m proud to be the first Reading Doctor in Essex, supporting children across Rochford and the surrounding areas to become confident, fluent readers.
With over 20 years of primary teaching experience, mainly in Years 2-5, I’ve always been passionate about making learning fun and engaging. I also trained as a Therapeutic Playworker, which has helped me create calm, supportive environments where every child feels safe and able to thrive.
Over the years, I’ve supported many children with additional needs including ASD, ADHD, selective mutism, and anxiety. I’m known for my calm, encouraging approach and love to celebrate every small step forward, whether that’s with a high-five or a silly dance!

Why I Became a Reading Doctor
Reading has always been at the heart of my teaching. From staying up late as a child to finish the latest adventure, to helping pupils today unlock the joy of books, I’ve seen how reading can change lives.
I became a Reading Doctor because I believe every child can be a confident reader with the right support. By removing barriers, tailoring learning, and building self-belief, I help children achieve academically and learn to read for pleasure.
