Hello, I'm Laura!
I'm proud to lead The Reading Doctor Southam, offering personalised 1:1 reading support to children, families and schools in Southam and the surrounding villages. Learning to read is a vital life skill and the foundation for success across the curriculum. I qualified from Canterbury Christ Church with a BA (Hons) in Primary Education, specialising in Early Years, and have many years of experience teaching across primary age groups. I am particularly passionate about early reading and phonics, with strong experience in teaching grapheme recognition, blending, segmenting and developing secure foundations for fluent reading.

Throughout my career, I have seen how transformative personalised reading support can be. I am passionate about helping children unlock the joy and confidence that comes with reading fluently. The Reading Doctor enables me to provide structured, engaging and fully tailored sessions that support each child's unique reading journey and help them develop a genuine, lasting love of reading.
